When someone calls you “goddess” as a complimentCategory: QuestionsWhen someone calls you “goddess” as a compliment
Nour asked 2 years ago

Salaam so I had a question dealing with the word “goddess”. it’s been very popular lately where it basically means someone is very beautiful or pretty, and  the girls like to call each other that sometimes as a way of complimenting one another. And I wanted to know is this an issue, especially if someone calls you that. what are you supposed to say if it’s not acceptable? I was thinking that it might have an issue because it has a connotation dealing with “god” jazakallah for taking the time to answer my question.
