Salam Alaykum
What is the opinion of Ayatollah Sistani about using vanilla extract in foods and desert? Can we eat cake or ice cream that potentially or certainly have vanilla extract, as a large proportion of extracts are using alcohol for preparation.

Salamun Alaikum! Hope you are doing well. We are sorry for replying you late.
If the percentage of the alcohol is less than two % then it is Halal to eat such kind of food. We don’t have any system to check the ingredients of food products.
