Asalam walaikum,
if a dog walks on the living room carpet, is it still permissible to pray on that carpet?

Salamun Alaikum! Hope you are doing well. We are sorry for replying you late.
If both of the carpet and the feet of dog are dry then the carpet is tahir. You can pray on it, otherwise you cannot.
