Asalamleikum wa rahmutullahe wa barakatu.

According to the naked eye and NASA today, March 7, 2023 is the full moon in the USA. The moon is clearly a full moon so how are we celebrating the birth of our Imam Mehdi (ajtf ) early? Tonight is the night of the 14th and tomorrow (March 8th) will be the night of the 15th of Shabaan. We are taught to be precise in the timing of our salaat, to be careful when reading the Quran, yet when it comes to moon sightings we are told to pray and Allah (Swt) will accept our prayers. Clearly reading and praying the Amaal of the 15th of Shabaan would be better tomorrow night. How do we reconcile this?

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

Based on your specific question and information provided.

The Islamic Day ends at Sunset (Maghrib time), after Sunset (Maghrib time) marks the beginning of the new twenty-four-hour period (Yawm) or day.

For example, Thursday night is called Laylatul Jummah (Night of Friday).
