As Salaam Alaykum,
I am a frontline health care worker ( Paramedic) who at this current time will likely meet many patients with the coronavirus on a daily basis. As such I have to wear special Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which includes a FFP3 mask to protect me from the virus entering my nose and mouth. Because I have a beard my work have told me that they cannot guarantee the mask will provide an adequate seal and they are not offering me alternative PPE.
What can I do in this circumstance to protect my safety. Can I shave my beard or consider a small ‘moustache and goatee’ type beard as if it is very thin and doesnt cover the area of the mask which touches the face then there is better chance of a seal.

Salamun Alaikum! Hope you are doing well. We are sorry for replying you late.
The amount of beard is enough when people see you and they don’t say you have shaved it. On other side, your safety comes first. In the extraordinary public health crisis, it is wajib to make sure you are safe and serve your patients with safety measures. So you are advised to do as per your safety precautions.
