How are Shrimps halal?Category: QuestionsHow are Shrimps halal?

As-Salamu Alaykum,
I do not consume Shrimp because I have not understood the logic behind them being halal.
As per a hadith from Imam Muhammad Al-Baqir (AS), “Eat the fish that has scales and do not eat the fish that does not have scales”.
Shrimps do not have scales. They are exoskeleton.
So why are they declared halal.

Salamun Alaikum! Hope you are doing well. We are sorry for replying you late.
The Mujtahideen try their best to understand and interpret Quran and Hadith before writing each ruling, Once they find enough evidences and proofs about a ruling, they can’t change any status of that. We can try to find and understand the wisdom behind each ruling but it is not necessary to know the actual reasons of every ruling after we know it is halal or haram according to the Sharia Law. Allah knows the reason and wisdom of that ruling. Same case is about Shirmp. After interpreting the Quran and Hadith, they consider Shrimps as Halal, so we trust and follow them.
