Alsalam alaykum
My question is about fasting in Ramadan. I have my son who is a university student who travel 200 km every day back and forth from home to university, four or five days every week. And as he cant drive, I \’m driving him back and forth daily more than 200 km. In this case, am I a traveler that I should reduce my prayers and break my fasting. If not, do i have to consider this as my daily job moving my son every day back and forth the above distance which mean that I keep my fasting and prayer with no reduce in number of rokaat. When I read the fasting rules and regulation in the Ebadat part of the Fiqh book , I understand that my son can fast while traveling in his job as a student, but he can\’t go without me as a driver for him. So, I appreciate if I know my duty about fasting Ramadan and my prayer. Thank you very much in advance.
Sincerely,
Alsalam Alaykum

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

Based on your specific question and information provided.

From the Jurisprudence Perspective: Considered a Frequent Traveller, full (Tamam) Salat and Fast).

Above is a General Ruling, A Mukallaf (someone who is legally obliged to fulfil religious duties) needs to apply the General Ruling on any Jurisprudence issue to their particular situation based on factors known to them, like age, health, ability to perform the action, risk assessment for safety of life etc…
