As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

Based on your specific question and information provided.

The Islamic Scholars have divided the Islamic teachings in three parts. (1) Fundamental of Faith (Belief / Aqidah), (2) Islamic Ethics / Morals, and (3) Islamic Law/ Fiqh / Jurisprudence.

We can provide you with the Jurisprudence aspect, (You can take direction from the Ruling of Sayyid Sistani regarding Smoking).

From the Jurisprudence Perspective:

Approximate English Translation
Question‎‎: “What is the ruling on smoking in relation to:‎
‎ 1 Beginner?” ‎
‎ 2 Accustomed to? ‎
‎Answer‎‎: 1 It is forbidden to smoke for a beginner if it causes him serious harm, even in the future, whether the serious harm is suspected or probable to the extent that the fear of the wise is true, but with security from serious harm, even in terms of not increasing it, it is fine. ‎
‎ 2. Habitual smoking if the continuation of it causes serious harm to him as long as he has to quit, unless he is harmed by leaving it a damage similar to or more severe than that harm or he finds it very difficult to quit it to an extent that he does not normally bear.
