I am reaching out regarding an issue I have with marriage. I was speaking to an Afghan guy for about 6 months I met him online. After praying istekhara about some issues we had and him delaying the process of telling his family, he was put in a situation where he had to tell them about me. He shared with me that his family was not fully on board and explained that there are issues with them not knowing my family. He still expressed that he is unaware of how to move forward and feels so lost. In one of our conversations, he told me that “it’s only going to get worse if we wait.” I’m trying to understand what this might mean from a spiritual and emotional perspective, and whether it’s a sign of pressure. It’s my first time really going through this, we come from different Middle Eastern backgrounds and I come from a Sunni family and do not know many shias, but can reach out for support . Please give me any advice.

I prayed so much and am unaware of how to proceed.
