Salam. This is an urgent question. It is haram for a mother to forcefully prevent her orphan daughter from marrying a man who is religious, pious, and righteous? In this situation, the mother is preventing the marriage due to cultural differences between the man and herself and backlash from her relatives over an interracial marriage. Please note that the man is righteous, conducts all of his obligations such as praying, fasting, khums, and zakat, and the daughter and him agree that they are suitable for each other.

As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,
We hope this answer finds you in high Islamic spirit.
According to Islamic law, the mother has no authority over the marriage of her daughter. If the daughter is mature and knows right and wrong in life, then she doesn’t need permission from her mother for marriage. However, it is highly recommended to satisfy the mother.
